    Nice head poor handle.
    Review by Jim
Looking at the picture I was expecting a nicely made and stained handle on this Axe. Unfortunately this wasn't the case, the handle looks nothing like the quality of the pictured handle. The shaft I had tappers as it goes down alot more than anything I can see on the picture, but this isn't a real issue. The biggest annoyance is that the shaft isn't finished anything like the picture. The wood has not been stained or varnish and is bare wood that isn't even sanded to a good finish. The end has a rough cut and isn't cut square. In order to get it looking like the image time and money is going to have to be spent. It needs a good sanding and then a wood stain or varnish. The length claims to be 42 inches, mine measured from the very top of the metal part to the tip of the handle comes in a 37.5 inches, so not even close.

On a positive note, The head is very nice once cleaned. It makes that ping sound when flicked. The edges are ok and have a slight sharpness to them which could be worked into something quite formidable. The metal seems of a reasonable quality for a replica.

Over all its a good Axe, for the price asked its a good buy even with the handle issues, with some work it will become a great item.

The website picture should be updated to what it really looks like though.
