This classic design hand-and-a-half sword from the early 14th century has simple lines, yet its beauty and balance, along with the diamond-section blade and cruciform hilt, made it a surprisingly easy sword to handle.
Crafted in much the same way as swords were made centuries ago, except that the blades are now forged from high-carbon spring steel, a resource unavailable off-the-shelf to the smiths of the old. The blade has a light polished finish which is closely replicating what the medieval swordsmith was able to achieve. The hand crafted high carbon steel blade is tempard for strength and has a full tang which is cup peened riveted over the pommel. The fittings are polished steel and all of these swords have leather-covered hardwood scabbards. These swords will appeal to both the re-enactor, and the collector who wants a sword with the same appearance as the originals.
The sword comes with a dull edge but can be sharpened in our workshop for a cost of £30-
