Designed for used on the Carcano M1938 short rifle this folding bayonet features a press button on the back of the handle to allow for the blade to slide and fold back on itself into the handle almost like a folding knife. The purpose of this design way that the bayonet would be permanently affixed to the rifle however the practicality of a folding bayonet cause this to see a short life of use and was manufactured later with a steel sheath. This replace comes with a steel sheath and is an excellent way to own a rare piece of Italian WWII history.
