In medieval weaponry, the breastplate is the front portion of plate armour covering the trunk of the body. It has been a military mainstay since ancient times and was usually made of leather, bronze or iron in antiquity. The breastplate was fastened to the body through leather belts that cross themselves on the back.
This handcrafted Steel Knight Templar Breastplate by Marto of Toledo, is a one piece solid construction of armour that covers the entire front of the torso . Inspired by those, used by the Templar Knights, this breastplate displays the emblems that defined the Templar Order with two Cross pattée, engraved into the steel. One on the bottom right of the armour and one place right over the heart of the wearer.
This item will give an authentic touch of history to any costume or display.
