The Normans spread to England, Sicily and other areas of Italy as warriors on horseback, known for their long chain mail, teardrop-shaped shields (kite shields) and conical helmets. This type of helmet with a forward beak and slightly curved was very popular. The conical shape allows the blows it receives to slide protecting the face and nose with the nose guard that does not impede vision.
This helmet has a beautiful aged finish with an adjustable liner.
