This buckle up Gambeson is based on a combination of surviving 14th century garments and period artwork. Its outer shell is made from heavy cotton. It’s padded with three layers of cotton batting, which in combination with the natural fibres of its outer shell and lining makes it exceptionally breathable. The gambeson is fastened with 4 buckles. True to surviving originals, the gambeson features detachable arms and comes with a second pair of half sleeves to allow for you to wear, full length, half length or no sleeves at all depending on how you want to wear it.

Price QualityGeoI spent a few days looking over different budget gambesons and after a lot of researching reviews on this one in particular and the manufacturer in general I decided to get this one. It comes with detachable sleeves and you get two sets, one long and one short set. This allows for its use in three different ways, long sleeve, short sleeve and no sleeves. Padding is good, its well stitched and I can't see any obvious points where it could rip from use. Couple of minor critiques, the cord holding on the sleeves could be thicker. It seems kinda light so I will be replacing it with something stronger. Also the front straps could have a couple more holes. It's another easy fix, I have a leather punch, but you can't tighten the gambeson as much as I'd like. It doesn't have an overlap on the front and the straps don't pull it tight enough for my liking. Straps seem well attached though. Very easy fixes but lose a star for quality as it could be better. If I could it would be only a half star lost but the review system is out of 5 so really my review is Quality: 9.5/10 Price: 10/10
