This sword is a replica of the King Robert the Bruce double-handed great sword that was used at Bannock Burn in 1314 during the final battle that won Scottish independence from the English.
Earl Elgin is a direct descendant of Robert the Bruce and the current head of the Bruce Family, he is pleased to have in his family Armoury the original King Robert the Bruce sword which has been in his family armoury at his home in Scotland for over 700 years.
