The Spartans developed a short sword that is extraordinarily effective in close combat. The leaf-shaped, double-edged blade has an acute point and is well balanced due to the combination of the short, downward curving crossguard and bronze grip. Our Spartan short sword includes a leather-covered scabbard made of wood. The metal band has rings so you can attach the sword and scabbard to a belt. This Spartan sword is based on the one illustrated in "The Spartan Army," a book by Nicholas Sekunda with illustrations by Richard Hook.
