Based on a classic design from the Middle Ages, The Sugarloaf Helmet is a beautifully designed full face helmet that is a cross between the heaume and the bascinet. They were worn until the third quarter of the century, when the visored bascinet emerged as dominant. These helmets were often decorated with a cross of brass or bronze on the face and with torses and mantles, especially since they were frequently worn in tournaments by great Knights.
This helmet is an excellent quality reproduction of this classic design. Manufactured of carbon steel with a polished finish and close attention to detail. An internal adjustable leather liner and strap allows the wearer a perfect secure fit while giving room for a padded arming cap. This piece is ideal for Stage and Costume as well as being practice for Re-enactment and Combat.
