According to Norse mythology, the Valkyrie were a host of females that decided who lived and who died in battle. The Valkyries would then escort their chosen dead in the afterlife to Valhalla (the Hall of the Slain). This pendant pays homage to those otherworldly female characters, and measures about 3.5 cm (or 1.4 inches). It is made of bronze. Actual articles of jewelry like this were discovered in dig sites in Gotland, Sweden and in Iceland. The pendant only has detailing on the front side. A genuine leather adjustable neck cord is included.
